Cape York 2012
Hi

It's early days yet but I am currently planning a trip to the Cape around June 2012 with the intention of making a Quick trip to the top as direct as possible - then a slow trip back stopping at as many places possible staying in several of them for a few nights, do some fishing, sight seeing and general relaxing where possible.

Currently I have allowed 4 weeks in total for the trip but it may be possible to extend this, even possible to separate and head off in separate directions part way through the trip, some may want to head up to Australia's most easterly island or something like that.

I really have not put any real planning into this yet but it's still over a year away so plenty of time to add ideas and such.

Now all we have to sort out is the weather - if anyone could put a word in it would be appreciated Big Grin

* the trip is currently not listed as an official club trip as it has not been approved by the board yet, either way it will be happening.

Re: Cape York 2012
There are talks in my family's ranks about doing a trip up to the Cape ... no time frame had been set yet however this might be an option that could be of interest...
I now know a few people considering this trip in the next 12 months ... must be something in the water :?: :!:

Bugger I think the place is going to over run by tourists - LOL

I must admit I now considering changing my plans but have not decided yet nor will I until later this year but another member of this forum has a trip planned that is taking him up the CSR and to other places north west WA!!

If only my lotto investment would pay decent dividends I could semi retire and take some nice long holidays and trips to all these places!

Re: Cape York 2012 - or a shorter drive :-)
Slight change of ideas...

Us long hall travellers are getting a little warn out and think we may take it slow next year plus finances are going to be tough with weddings and all so we are thinking about doing a 2 week trip to either Morton or Fraser - my preference is for Fraser but nothing set yet.
