Day Trip - Teewah Beach Sunday 2nd of October
Day Trip - Cooloola Recreation Area - Teewah Beach Sunday 2nd of October

At the September meeting we decided to set a few dates for Club trips,
The First being for Sunday the 2nd of October -
This trip will require you to purchase a permit for driving on the beach and persons without a valid permit will not be joining us.

If you intend on attending this trip please let us know.

Permits can be obtained on line and I would prefer this to be done as waiting in the queue near the ferry can be a real pain and will chew up valuable beach time :-)

Permits are $10 for one week if purchased on line $15 if purchased on the day!

More information regarding the area can be accessed on - http://www.rainbow-beach.org/content/view/96/238/

The meeting place is BP Morayfield at 7am, often members will meet half an hour earlier and have Breakfast in the food court area - this is entirely up to you.
Please be aware that food or Fuel is not available on the beach so please organise this before departing.

As per usual your Car needs to be insured with a bare minimum of 3rd party Property, be currently Registered and you need to have a Valid QLD Drivers Licence.
We also require you to have a working UHF CB Radio, the car needs to be fitted with Recovery points and you need to carry a snatch strap and rated shackles, other recovery gear including a long handled shovel would be advisable.
For Sand driving you will also need a reliable Tyre pressure gauge so you can Air Down your tyres for the soft sand, it would also be advised to have an air compressor for pumping them back up when we hit the tar for the return trip as you may need to Air down to such a level that driving on Tar will not be possible at the lowered pressures.

Look on derm website (Great Sandy National Park, cooloola section). They publish an update for conditions and tides for every two weeks.

Hi

Just camping with Finance Dave and Steve from GIC Campers at Lennox Head, on my way back from a few days playing down in the forests behind Coffs, am yet to sort things out so will have a look shortly, either way we should be ok, low tide today here is around 2:30pm so should be ok.

I was thinking that we could spend some time playing with recovery examples during high tide, so we can fill in time during the tide change.

Hi Guys

I wasn't able to make it to this one due to a OVERLOAD of Uni work.

So I stayed home did some UNI work, but mostly
fitted new tow/snatch points to my 80 series, and a dual battery setup Wink

So, how did the trip go? Any pics?

Cheers
Matt

Well I am back and ready for BED!

We had a good trip with 3 cars including my Troopy, the day started about one hour late due to someone sleeping in :-)
During our way up the traffic travelling towards Brisbane was quite heavy, seems no one wanted to get caught in the rush later in the day.

On arrival to the beach the tide was coming in but this did not stop us from reaching the point where we travelled over to the Rainbow beach side, both Adrian and I spend an hour or two feeding the crabs while the remainder either played or rested.

Hopefully between us a few good photo's will be posted - stay turned.
